The idea for For After started as a passing thought while I was on vacation with my family at Walt Disney World—what would happen if everything suddenly went wrong in the happiest place on Earth? Each ride, I played that thought in my head. That quiet question stuck with me long after we returned home.
It grew from there, shaped by the memory of my father’s deep love for Disney and my own “what if” fascination with apocalyptic situations. The contrast between magic and collapse, joy and survival, became too compelling to ignore. Within months, that thought became a story—one about grief, family, and the desperate fight to hold on to something good when the world begins to fall apart.
